The Lolita scandal had a very fulfilling gig yesterday. But instead of doing our usual punk-rock routine, we specially modified our genre to pinay alternatives as requested by my sister lally, the organizer of the event “katawan ko, karapatan ko” A sexual education lecture series held at our school. Hearing about this event, and learning that our audiences will be 50 sexually abused girls aged 10-25 and were victims of incest, I agreed that we play songs that they can sing along with rather than songs of bikini kill and such. I know Kathleen Hanna will still be proud of me. For this event, we simply called ourselves, LOLITA.
